A Letter To MTV

MTV is looking for "trend setters" for a new show series. I sent them this letter:

Hello.

I'm 62 and have been a trend setter all my life.

I may not be a well know celebrity, but about 10 years after I start a certain look, I find everyone doing the same. I was the one who brought back the goatee. Remember the "long shirt... sticking out under a short jacket look"? That was me.

Back in the 70s I had contracts with several major record companies. I chucked it all to become one of the first all indie songwriters. Now everyone is doing it.

I'm currently working on "wearing white socks with sandals". It's already having some success with the Eastern Europeans that come to America. And my sources tell me that it's just a matter of time before high school and college kids take it on.
